Well, after a full Friday session on the 17th I was a bit numb in the brain.  I have since found out that I'm not the only one.  We've sort of decided to organise a festival, or feastival, showing off all this region has to offer.  The stalls and activities would be run only by local people.  The trouble is, that sort of thing has been done in this region many times before and to me it just seems like another school fete (don't go there, girlfriend) and, subsequently I'm not too enthused about the whole thing.  But, I'm not ready to give up just yet.  This could go anywhere, and as you say, Bernie, we have to Create and Innovate.  So innovate this, sucker!!!!!   Sorry, I know that was a bit rude.  But what we need is a new direction. We need to do something different, and not the usual crap things that women always end up doing 'cos no one else wants to, like cooking and cleaning up other people's mess.  Alright, now I'm starting to sound negative I'll shut up now.  Stay tuned for some more positive blogs in the future.  Bye!!!

On the weekend of 4 & 5 August, I went to The Barn at Bickleys, 30km out of Bendigo.  This was the orientation for the Leading Waranga Women program which will run for approx. 6 months. I and 13 other women of varying ages were treated to mouth-watering delights in the rustic, lavish atmosphere of the famous Bickley's Barn.  We worked hard, though, in a mental sense, as we brainstormed ideas and put ourselves in sometimes uncomfortable situations.  I feel we all got alot out of the weekend, though, and we're all anticipating a bright and exciting future with the program.  Our first meeting as a group will be on Fri 17 Aug, 9:30 til 3:00 at the RCH.  We are all supposed to keep a reflective journal, so I must go out and buy an excercise book for that very purpose.  I went to buy a camouflage jacket the other day, but I couln't find any.
